Alaska offers spectacular fishing opportunities for everyone from the experienced fisher to ones just wet under the gills… let professional guides show you where the hot spots are whenever you choose to visit. Fly out to a remote lake or stream. Fish the abundant rivers on the Kenai Peninsula, the beautiful home of thousands of red, pink and king salmon runs. Complete your fishing adventure trying to catch a giant halibut in Kachemak Bay before heading back to Anchorage.

Itinerary/Details

Day 1 - Anchorage

Arrive in Anchorage, Alaska’s largest city. An Explore Tours representative will meet you with your travel documents and answer any questions you may have. Transfer to your hotel for your overnight accommodations in Anchorage.


Day 2 - Anchorage

Transfer to Lake Hood, the largest floatplane base in the world where an experienced pilot will take you to remote Alaska wilderness for a full day of guided lake or stream fishing (depending on the season). Overnight Anchorage. 


Day 3 - Anchorage/Cooper Landing

This morning pick up your rental car and enjoy a spectacular drive down the Seward Highway, a National Scenic Byway. Choose to take an optional afternoon guided fishing tour. Overnight in Cooper Landing.

 

Day 4 - Cooper Landing

Spend the day fishing the Kenai or Kasilof River on your fishing adventure. Fishing license, lunch, and fish processing are not included. Overnight in Soldotna, the hub of the Kenai Peninsula.

 

Day 5 - Cooper Landing/Homer

Continue your drive south to Homer, at the “end of the road”. Relax this evening and explore Homer at your leisure. Overnight on “the Spit”, a narrow finger of land that extends into the Bay, and see the catch of the day! 

 

Day 6 - Homer

Depart on an all day halibut charter in Kachemak Bay. Along with the great fishing you have an opportunity to view wildlife, playful otters, colorful puffins, porpoises and whales. Fish processing included. Overnight in Homer.

 

Day 7 - Homer/Anchorage

If you have your own gear, stop at rivers and streams along the way and fish your way back to Anchorage. Begin your journey home or extend your stay with a post tour option.
