Alaska Winter Magic

Travel to several of the top viewing areas for an opportunity to enjoy some of the most vivid displays of the Northern Lights found anywhere!

This package features all of the components that make winter in Alaska so magical – World-class ice sculptures, northern lights viewing, dog sledding, natural hot springs, and a visit above the Arctic Circle! (Ice Art Competition takes place the first 2 weeks of March with finished sculptures available for viewing mid-late March, weather dependent)

Itinerary/Details

Day 1 - Anchorage

Arrive in Anchorage, Alaska’s largest city and transfer to your downtown hotel. The rest of the day is yours to explore the shops, museums, and activities that Anchorage has to offer. Overnight in Anchorage.

 

Day 2 - Anchorage/Fairbanks

Fly from Anchorage to Fairbanks. On arrival, visit the Ice Park to view the World Ice Art Championships. Displays sparkle and come to life in the dark skies as lights shine on the unique sculptures. Overnight in Fairbanks.

 

Day 3 - Fairbanks/Arctic Circle/Fairbanks

Begin your day with an adventure above the Arctic Circle. A unique ground tour will take you north to view the remarkable Trans Alaska Pipeline, the rugged Dalton Highway and the mighty Yukon River. Overnight in Fairbanks.

 

Day 4 - Fairbanks

The day is yours to explore the Fairbanks area. This evening enjoy an included gourmet Alaskan style dinner, followed by a dog sled and aurora viewing tour. Transportation from your hotel and arctic outerwear is provided. 

 

Day 5 - Fairbanks/Chena Hot Springs

Head to Chena Hot Springs Resort for a relaxing soak in the natural outdoor Rock Lake’s warm and healing waters. Optional activities such as aurora viewing, the Ice Museum, and cross-country skiing are available at the resort. 

 

Day 6 - Chena Hot Springs/Fairbanks/Anchorage

Depart by flight from Fairbanks this morning for your return trip to Anchorage. Depending on your travel dates, you may opt to travel by train aboard the world famous Alaska Railroad. (Rail runs southbound on Sunday's)

Please note: Some local transportation may not be included. Rental car service may be added for the duration or just a portion of your stay or you may choose to utilize local transportation.
